01 · The big plan
A free festival and drone show are taking over Havertown Saturday
Delco’s biggest plan this week lands at Haverford High School Stadium on Saturday, August 29, from noon to 9 p.m. The free Illumination 250 Festival is bringing live music, food trucks, vendors, crafts, inflatables, historical characters, and a kids zone to Havertown.
The finale is a choreographed drone show celebrating America’s 250th birthday. Admission is free, and the event is open to the public. The stadium is at 200 Mill Road in Havertown. If this is your pick, check the organizer’s page before leaving for any weather or arrival updates.

A free resource: COSA’s virtual Power Over Pain program runs Tuesdays from September 15 through October 20 for residents age 60+ living with chronic pain. The six-week program is free, but registration is required and space is limited. Registration information ↗
Good news: Delaware County’s 2026 internship program served 107 students across 25 departments. Together, the interns logged more than 20,000 hours serving residents—the program’s largest group yet. Read the County update ↗
